Thursday-Threads-Dinosaur

Just say the word dinosaur and I’m in. When my husband told me he was interested in getting a 3d printer, to be honest all I could think about was all the cool dinosaur stuff I could print. After some trial and error, he totally nailed it with this t rex necklace.

Since the necklace is a little childish (in the best way), I needed to make the rest of the outfit a little more edgy to give the look some balance. I picked this fun geometric pencil skirt because it’s still playful enough for summer but still offers the slimming benefits of wearing black. Also I just love it.

Typically when I wear this tank top, I put a camisole on but I opted to wear a bralette instead this time, pairing that with a high waisted bottom allows you to show a little bit of skin without going overboard. I kept the rest of my accessories to a minimum because with a statement necklace like that, you want to keep everything else as simple as possible! My tiny studs and stackable rings from my latest Rocksbox were absolutely perfect!

    1. Right?! I love it. I really want to do some kind of ring – maybe a skull? I’m also working on the best way to paint 3d printed objects because I’m DYING for some more gold in my life haha.

  1. OMG you really like dinosaurs! I’ve never seen a tattoo like yours before which is always cool! It’s so detailed and I love it. Also had no clue you could design necklaces! So cool!

  2. I LOVE that your hubby made this for you! I’ve tried my hand at 3D printing and man oh man, was it a fail. He knocked it out of the park!

    1. Apparently it takes some practice, there has been lots of yelling and cursing in my house since we got this printer lol. You have to really get the settings right or else it’s super disappointing!

  3. I’ve never seen someone’s end result with a 3D printer. and that necklace is amazing! Such a phenomenal job and I think it would be cool for you to post a 3D printer walk-thru and show us how it works! xx

  4. That necklace your dinosaur tattoo are amazing! I’m slightly embossed to say that it wasn’t until Jurassic World came out that I finally watched the first Jurassic Park movie, I know like WTF is wrong with me?! ha. Needless to say I’m slightly obsessed now!! I don’t have any tattoos of my own but my sister is covered and like all of my friends have at least one, I live through them because as much as I love them on other people I’m beyond scared to get one myself mainly because I can’t decide on anything, I always change my mind.

    1. Ahhhhh I’m so happy you loved JP though! I remember when it first came out on VHS I wasn’t supposed to watch it but I did anyway and I was so scared but LOVED it. Haha I hear you on the tattoos, my most visible ones are the t rex and the Batman/Joker tattoos – all things that have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember so I’m not too worried about them!

    1. Thanks so much, Sabrina! It’s actually a combo of two lipsticks – underneath it’s a REALLY cheap Wet and Wild orangey color (sorry, I’m out of town and don’t have it with me!) but on top is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the color Morocco. 🙂
