The very best outfits are: 1. Easy to recreate 2. Look really cool and 3. Comfortable. Often times, the outfits here on this blog aren’t comfortable (I’m just saying). Wearing a sticky bra and a lace up top might look awesome but it’s not something I want to do on an everyday basis. Today I’m making it up to you guys with an outfit idea that fits the bill perfectly.
There’s something really “cool” about wearing a dress over jeans. I don’t know why, but it just makes you look cool! I think it might have something to do with breaking conventions and wearing something in a unique way – whatever it is, I’m here for it. Plus, it’s really comfortable and you don’t have to shave your legs. Count me in!
I originally planned on wearing this dress as….a dress. It’s sheer but came with a black tank dress to wear under it (bless you, Boohoo!) Thankfully, the dress to wear underneath is a completely separate piece, which gives you lots of layering options. Instead, I threw on this dress with my trusty black skinny jeans and some sandals and I was good to go. Yes I’m wearing heels, but since they’re nice and chunky and have a big platform, they’re surprisingly easy to wear and comfortable. This is one outfit I plan on wearing again and again because it’s appropriate for so many different occasions. If you need to be a bit more modest, you can always throw on a cami underneath.
If you don’t own a dress like this, get one! This is a pretty trendy piece so I would go with something budget friendly. The nice thing is, not only can you throw it over jeans, it’s a perfect dress for summer and would look adorable with some lace up flats or a pair of booties. I might even wear mine as a swimsuit coverup! Tons of styling options for one piece.
Just to recap – a sheer dress + jeans (skinny or boyfriend, depending on the dress) is a match made in heaven. You’ll be giving off cool girl vibe for days, you’ll be comfy and you’re making your wardrobe stretch a little further with an unexpected combo.
