If there’s one thing I excel at…it’s having great hair appointments. Is this a skill? I say it is! How many times have you left the salon disappointed or upset? I can tell you honestly that in the last five years, I haven’t had a single bad hair appointment. No tears shed over these locks! I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to help you make sure you have an amazing appointment every single time you go get your hair done, whether you’re getting a trim or a full blown platinum blonde pixie.

I have had bright colored hair for a while and let me tell you I have tried LOTS of products. Some awesome and some terrible. Recently, Sally Beauty gifted me some products to try and lots of them have quickly become favorites for me. These are products I use regularly and, just to be transparent, not everything they sent to me made it on this list. This is the real deal, babes. If you’re not shopping at Sally Beauty I would *highly* recommend making a trip! It helps to know what you’re looking for when you go into the store, but there are some GEMS. These are my favorites that are must haves for people with fantasy and color treated hair but honestly, the majority of them will work for any hair type. You probably just won’t need as many different products if you’re not bleached to a level 11 like me. Click on each product name to visit the website and buy – happy shopping!
Unfortunately, the products I were using were VERY hard on my skin. If you’ve read any of my beauty posts before, you probably know I have extremely dry and sensitive skin. I often find that the skin on my underarms gets dry and irritated because the deodorants I was using weren’t providing any kind of moisture! After reading some reviews on Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant, I decided I had to give it a try. Here are two of the reviews that really convinced me:
- Have you ever tried Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant?
- What did you think?

This month’s Diversity Chic was sponsored by 7 Charming Sisters, but like every other post you read here, all opinions are my own. 🙂
It cannot be February already. I refuse to believe it.
Okay yeah, I believe it. But it’s really unfortunate because January kicked my bootyyyyy. I actually got a lot done and accomplished a whole lot – unfortunately most of it didn’t line up with my small goals. Eek. In case you’ve never read a small goals post before, each month Nicole from Writes Like a Girl hosts a linkup for bloggers to share a few goals for the month. Make sure to head over to her post and get inspired by all the other small goals! Let’s review my goals for January:

Y’all I’m going to tell the truth….these last few weeks have been TOUGH. I know a lot of you are probably in the same boat. If you follow me on social media, you’ve seen my thoughts and feelings so I’m not even going to go into them here. Instead, I’m going to make today’s post more productive. It felt weird just writing a “business as usual” post with an outfit or makeup tutorial – but I’m not a political blog (and honestly, I would hate to blog about politics anyway) so I’ve done a lot of time thinking, “How can I contribute to the conversation and be true to who I am, but still provide you guys with helpful content?”
Disclosure: I received a pair of THINX underwear to post about on Instagram – I knew it would draw a lot of questions so I wrote this post! I wasn’t asked to write this post and before I partnered with this brand, I already owned four pairs that I bought with my own money. Also if you click on any of the links below, I receive credit for your purchase.
This post is about periods. If you’re squeamish about periods, this one is not for you. But also, you should kind of get over it because half the people have to deal with it and you’re an adult (probably).
