dallas fashion blogger valery brennanLike most of you readers out there, this Millennial is CONSTANTLY running around. I work remotely (which most of the time means from home) but I still feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done! Whether it’s a happy hour with friends, my daily trip to the gym, date night with my husband, going on a shopping spree, networking at a blogger event, or a spur of the moment trip to Austin, I’m always on the go!

One of my favorite ways to squeeze a few extra minutes out of my day is….not washing my hair! It’s not as gross as it sounds, I promise! There are easy ways to keep your hair looking clean without having to jump in the shower and then take the time to fix your hair (which we all know is the REALLY time consuming part). Especially in Texas, I find that blow drying and heat styling my hair takes forever because I have to spend a lot of time cooling off so I don’t break into a sweat after showering! You know you do the same thing 🙂

webIMG_4536It’s SO easy, y’all. Instead of scrubbing up with shampoo, use a dry shampoo at your roots – lighly spritz all over your roots and let it sit for a few minutes while you go do something else. Then flip your head upside down and use your fingers to rub in the dry shampoo. This step will keep you from having any white reside AND will give your hair more volume.

If the dry shampoo makes your hair feel a little dry, rub an oil from the middle to end of your strands…be sure to avoid the roots though! My hair is naturally wavy so after I throw in my dry shampoo, I’ll sometimes add a few waves with a flat iron to make it look a little more “done.” Using a dry shampoo EASILY saves me 30-45 minutes of my day, which can make a huge difference! Plus I’m saving water in the shower and my hair color stays much longer.

Bonus life hack!

If you read this blog, you know I’ve been focusing a lot of energy on getting fit. Taking care of myself in all aspects of life has become really important to me, particularly in the last year or so. I’m still in my 20s but I’m realizing more and more that I only have one body and I need to make the most of it. Being busy isn’t an excuse for being unhealthy, and Centrum MultiGummies are an easy (and honestly fun!) way to add a bit of health into my crazy, hectic schedule.

Of course you still want to make sure you’re eating healthy but adding in a multivitamin is going to help boost and fill in some of those gaps you might be missing with your diet.* The Centrum MultiGummies are a favorite (they’re the ones my husband always tries to steal!) but I’m loving the new Centrum Vitamints Raspberry too! The refreshing mint goes really well with the raspberry flavor and the mint flavor leaves you with a fresh aftertaste. You can find Centrum Vitamins in the vitamin aisle at Walmart (look for the health and beauty sections!)
