Disclaimer: I received some items courtesy of Boohoo for the purpose of this post. Of course, all opinions are my own.
Duster: Boohoo (exact coat here & available in other colors!) | Camisole: Forever 21 (literally $2 – sold out online but I always see them in stores) | Jeans: Old Navy | Zip Up Brogues: Boohoo (sold out but other great styles here!)
So yesterday I was reading this post by Nicole from Writes Like a Girl blog and it totally resonated with me. Part of what makes us who we are is our imperfections (that sentence sounds so weird but I think it’s correct…?) So here I am, writing a post about some stuff I’m terrible at. I don’t have it all together….not even a little bit.
A few months ago, I bought five air plants off Amazon. If you don’t know what those are, they’re plants that only require air, light and watering (once every two weeks). Four of them are dead and I don’t even know how one has survived – I haven’t watered it in at least two months.
I love the Kardashians (if you read this post, you already know that). Yes, they’re problematic. Yes, I probably wouldn’t like them in person buuuuut I like them on the internet! This outfit was kind of Kardashian-inspired. Kim knows how to rock a good duster, although tbh hers probably would have had a bodycon or corset underneath. I’m digging neutrals lately so all black just felt right under this camel coat.
My house is almost always a mess. For whatever reason, I’m just a horribly messy person and even if I cleaned a room the day before, the next day it’s usually a mess again. I don’t even know how it happens!
Lately my diet has consisted of mostly garbage. It’s so embarrassing and it has made me feel terrible, yet here I am drinking a giant Coke. (Planning on kickstarting healthy eating this month though – more on that Monday in my small goals post!)
I’ve read like five books this year. And really only because of my company’s book club. This is so embarrassing to admit in public but…..yeah. I’m trying to do better, I promise.
Most days I work from the couch in pajamas. I know when you work from home you’re “supposed” to get up and get ready for the day but I don’t believe in that. What’s the point in working from home if I can’t look like a slob?!
So, ya know, I’ve basically got a one way ticket on the Hot Mess Express and honestly…I’m okay with it! Yep, my Instagram is still going to be pretty things because, it’s business, but if you check my Instagram Stories you’ll get some of the mess every once in a while 🙂
