It cannot be February already. I refuse to believe it.
Okay yeah, I believe it. But it’s really unfortunate because January kicked my bootyyyyy. I actually got a lot done and accomplished a whole lot – unfortunately most of it didn’t line up with my small goals. Eek. In case you’ve never read a small goals post before, each month Nicole from Writes Like a Girl hosts a linkup for bloggers to share a few goals for the month. Make sure to head over to her post and get inspired by all the other small goals! Let’s review my goals for January:
Happy first small goals post of 2017! This officially marks the start of my 2nd year doing small goals and I’m honestly so excited – my small goals last year really helped me stay focused and achieve my goals. This month’s small goals post comes a little late because the first Monday of this month was reserved for the word of the year. If you missed that post, you can check it out here. Otherwise, it’s time to chat about January small goals! Per usual, I’m linking up with the always lovely, Nicole. Make sure to check out her small goals post and while you’re at it, read a few others who linked up! Here’s a look at my December goals:
It’s here! 2017 is here! After all that happened in 2016, I think the majority of us were ready for a fresh start. When I sat down to choose my word for 2017, I anticipated a grueling process. I’d been thinking it over casually for the last few days and had no idea what I was going to choose. Then when I sat down to write this post…it just happened!
It’s the last small goals post of the year! I’ve gotta be honest, I’m really proud of myself for keeping up with these goal posts all year. I’m so thankful to Nicole for starting this link up, otherwise there’s no way I would have made it. Having these small goals has made it much easier to achieve so many of my 2016 goals (which I should probably review here pretty soon, shouldn’t I?) We all know December snuck up so let’s stop talking about it, and start reviewing November’s goals!
Most of the time I feel really young. I think I look young and when I watch shows like the OC I still feel younger than the main characters. Then every once in a while something just hits me and I’m like “HOLY COW I’M COMING UP ON 30.” Taking my sister’s Senior pictures was definitely one of those moments.
Oh boy. Is it really already November? Yikes. The other day I was complaining about Black Friday sales being announced buuuuut I guess it’s coming up pretty quick! This month is going to be another crazy one but I PRAY it’s not as insane as October was. This past weekend I tried to do absolutely nothing and it was glorious – the five weekends prior to that I was booked solid so my mind and body were both seriously exhausted. I’m really hoping taking some time to recharge will have me back to my best self. Let’s review how last month’s small goals went!

Happy Monday! If you’re like me, you had a very fun but VERY busy weekend. I already know that tonight I’m going to want to sit back and relax and (if you’re over 21), sometimes that means having an alcoholic beverage! Unfortunately I’m pretty prone to hangovers so I tend to avoid drinking on weeknights. Adulthood is rough! I was just introduced to I Never Too Hungover and I love it! I really can’t afford to lose a whole day in bed just because I want to have a few drinks with friends the day before and Never Too Hungovertotally solves that dilemma! Drinking Never Too Hungover Prevention before an evening of drinks helps prevent hangovers the next day (recommended for up to 7 drinks), and drinking Boost after drinking will help you recover.

Thanks for helping keep this blog running. <3 GUYS it’s August. How is that even possible?! I feel like we’re racing towards the end of the year and the holiday season will be here before we know it…mainly because for me the holiday season kicks off in October because Halloween is my FAVE.

My husband and I both work remotely, which means we take lots of road trips together! We don’t have any long road trips on the agenda for the next month or two but we are always traveling in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to discover the best new restaurants and things to do! The DFW Metroplex is really large so traveling all the way across it can take up to an hour and a half – definitely a road trip in itself! We made a day date out of roadtripping through Dallas to visit some of our favorite spots – first we hung out at Vitruvian Park, we went to see Ghostbusters at Alamo Drafthouse (yes I wore a Ghostbusters shirt to see the movie) and then afterwards we ate dinner at Bistro B!

The last few weeks have been a lesson in self care and self love for me. Since February, I’ve been struggling with a weird pain in two of my fingers and my wrist – I’ve been to a normal doctor and a nerve specialist and neither of them could give me a straight answer. The pain was starting to affect my daily life – I haven’t blogged in the last week because the pain was so severe. My self esteem had taken a nosedive and I was so frustrated it brought me to tears. It was really affecting every part of my life.
