Top and purse c/o Charming Charlie
Today is a first for the blog, people! I’m wearing WHITE JEANS. I’ve kind of avoided white jeans for a while because they just didn’t feel ~*eDgY*~ enough for me lolllll. Really though, every time I put them on, they just never felt like me. That has finally changed!
Psst make sure to read to the end of the post for a HUGE announcement! (Seriously.) Also if you haven’t taken the reader survey yet, I would love for you to do that! It takes 2 mins or less. Click here for the survey!
Even though I love my normal wardrobe of (pretty much) all black, I wanted to incorporate a pair of white denim into my wardrobe just to brighten things up a tad and make it feel a little more like spring and summer. I’ve found a few ways to help white denim feel a little more like “me,” that might help you guys out if you’re looking to inject a little bit more of your personality into your outfits.
How to Add Personality to Your Outfits
- Add accessories – adding this simple (and cheap) choker made a huge difference for this look. I could’ve added even more personality with a statement bag as well. I went relatively simple on accessories this time but even just the choker helped. Statement rings, bracelets, neck scarves, earrings, necklaces..lots of options here to change up your look.
- Wear shoes that are really “you” – if I wore simple camel booties with this look, it would’ve been super cute but not really an outfit that looks like “me.” Instead, I added a pair of Sam Edelman heels (first seen here), that have lots of buckles and straps…perfect for my edgy style!
- Change your makeup to fit your personal style – instead of a neutral eye, I made this look a little more edgy and playful by adding some color to my eyeshadow. I used shades of pink and coral (my current favorite). I actually did the exact same makeup routine I used in this post so if you want to know more about my makeup, don’t miss it! Another way to do this is by having a statement lip – black or brown lipstick definitely would’ve given this look an edgy vibe. If you need to tone down an edgy look, wear a soft and sweet pink lipstick. Play around with it!
That’s it – three simple but effective ways to add some personality to an otherwise “basic” outfit. Nothing wrong with basic, of course, but if you’re looking for a little more oomph, these tricks will do it.
Also, how gorgeous is this top?! I included it in my Mail Monday post a few weeks ago and you’ll never guess where it’s from…Charming Charlie! I swear to you guys, this top is going to be on heavy rotation for at least the next 6 months. It’s insanely comfortable and well made, especially for the price. It really compares to some of my more expensive tops, definitely higher quality than Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe. The bag is from there too and it was on clearance – they have so many cute options! Click here to shop Charming Charlie or you can shop some of my favorite tops below (don’t forget the coupon code!)

Okay last thing….I’ve been holding out on you guys. I have a HUGE life change coming up but honestly I didn’t want to do an entire blog post about it because it’s going to be a long process so you’re probably going to hear about it a lot. I’m moving….TO DENVER! My husband and I bought a house and will be moving the first week in July. We are SO excited and cannot wait to make Denver our home! Stay tuned, because later in the summer I will definitely be doing more DIY projects, home decor posts, etc. I’m so excited for this journey and I hope you’re excited to follow along.
