Diversity Chic featuring Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala

I am SO EXCITED to share this with you guys because some of my blogger besties and I have been keeping this under wraps for a while now. So, without further adieu, I give you: Diversity Chic.

Diversity Chic is a collaboration of Dallas bloggers showcasing current fashion trends on a variety of skin tones, hair colors, body types and heights. Each month we will feature a new trend tailored to our personalities and style.

Today we are showcasing the Pantone color of the year, Marsala with four distinct ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe. Make sure to check out the other Diversity Chic posts to get the scoop on their outfits and hear their opinion on Marsala!

Full disclosure: I’m not that crazy about Marsala. I know, I know – I’m not supposed to say things like that. But it’s true! It’s just kind of drab. I think part of it is because I went to A&M so I’m used to seeing maroon and this is kind of like maroon but…not quite. ANYWAY, I kind of went rogue and decided to wear some straight up maroon shoes and call them Marsala. If you’re not crazy about how a color looks on your skin but still want to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe, accessories are the perfect solution. It also keeps you from spending a bundle on something that you might not like in six months! A pair of Marsala earrings, a clutch or (if you’re like me) sneakers let you be part of the trend without going overboard.

What do you think of the color of the year? Are you loving it or are you feeling a little iffy about it like I am? Sound off in the comments!
