One of my absolute favorite trends that is going to be huge for fall (THANK GOODNESS) is menswear inspired items. Blazers, loafers, button downs, boyfriend jeans, hats, bomber jackets, giant cardigans, oxfords…sigh…it just makes me so happy.

I’m doing the #stylemeaugust Instagram challenge by @hilaryrushford and today’s challenge was “Let’s Hear it For the Boys” so obviously I took the opportunity to wear a menswear-inspired outfit. The problem is, it’s a thousand degrees here in Dallas so that’s easier said than done!

I opted for a more fitted white blazer a simple white v neck. The black on the blazer breaks it up a little bit and the feminine cut of the blazer keeps the outfit from being too masculine. Since I had to work today, I wanted to make sure I still looked “put together.”

I paired that with some skinny jeans and my new favorite pair of MJ inspired loafers. Honestly, I got these bad boys at Goodwill for $5 and I’m so freaking stoked about it because I’ve been on the hunt for YEARS I just haven’t been able to fork over the $150+ to get a pair.

As far as jewelry, I wore really simple pearl studs and my favorite watch. If you feel weird about looking too masculine you can always wear a statement necklace or a cool bracelet with your menswear-inspired look!

So who’s going to join me?! Tomorrow is Sassy Lass in Stripes…can’t wait to see what you come up with!
