I think every 20-something girl went through her Michael Cera phase. He’s adorable and seems like a nice enough dude (although I still reserve that plenty of you wouldn’t like him if he wasn’t famous…you know who you are!) He was the touring bassist for indie band Mister Heavenly back in 2010 but he’s been pretty quiet on the music front lately. Until last night.

YOU GUYS: Michael Cera has released a new album, and it’s fantastic.

If you’re a fan of Juno this is for you. If you love Sufjan Stevens, this is for you. If you’re feeling stressed out, this is for you. If you like things that sound nice, this is for you. If you like piano interludes, this is for you. If you like quiet music that might make you really sleepy at 2:30 in the afternoon, this is for you.

I’ve been pretty stressed lately. Nothing too crazy, just trying to juggle a lot and stay organized…this album seriously could not have come at a better time. It’s so relaxing and from the first track, it just made me feel so calm. I really love that music can completely change how you feel in a matter of three minutes and this album is no different. So grab some hot tea (or iced tea if it’s a thousand degrees like it is here in Dallas) and settle in for some Michael Cera goodness. You won’t regret it.
