I know I’m not alone here…is anyone else losing their mind over this short story Jo just produced? Yeah, I call JK Rowling Jo…because that’s her name.
If you haven’t read it yet, pleeeeeease do yourself a favor and read the full text here.
So many lovely gems here and so many reasons to smile. Here are some things that I thought were really interesting/wonderful:
-Harry and the gang have been immortalized as Dumbledore’s Army. I just love that this name has stuck for decades and they will forever be a part of Dumbledore’s legacy.
-Viktor Krum is still doing his thing as seeker for Bulgaria.
-Harry has a large cut on his face…which means he is probably getting into some kind of trouble that we MIGHT get to hear about someday.
-Rita Skeeter (and likely plenty of others) STILL don’t believe what really happened at the Triwizard Tournament…this is absolutely fascinating to me. How can they still ignore the truth, even after Voldemort’s very public return and defeat?!
-Ron is still happily married to Hermione and co-manages Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes with George. RIP sweet Fred.
-Hermione still has terrible hair – no matter what the movies tell us!
-A potential romance between Teddy Lupin and Victoire Weasley? I can’t even handle how precious that is.
-Rita is still doing her thang. Don’t get me wrong, Rita Skeeter is the WORST but at the same time, there’s something so wonderful about the fact that she’s still so fixated on Harry Potter so many years later.
Some people think the story of Harry Potter just needs to die. Personally, I’m thankful that the story of Harry Potter is so near and dear to the heart of the author that she can’t just say goodbye forever. She cares so much that she has to write more about that universe and I’m so thankful that she has chosen to share it with the rest of us mere Muggles.
I’m DESPERATELY hoping this is a teaser for something more (Rita’s new book?!), but even if it’s not, it was an extremely pleasant surprise. Thanks, Jo. You’ve made my week.
