I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect “Christmas plaid” for years. I’m not sure if that’s really a thing, but that’s what I call it – you know, the perfect, cozy, navy/red/green/yellow plaid. Well, I’ve found it. It’s a lovely little J Crew number that I thrifted online for a whopping $15.
If you have a blog, don’t forget to join me for Two Way Tuesday! Add your link below so I can check it out!
All photos by Stephanie Drenka.
This first outfit was for our holiday photos that Stephanie Drenka took for me and my husband. I paired the plaid shirt with a copper pencil skirt, black lace tights, and black heels (that you may have seen me wear them here, here, here and here).
Top: J Crew/thrifted ($15) | Skirt: jane.com ($18) | Tights: Old | Shoes: Charlotte Russe ($20) | Necklace: Cents of Style ($10) | Large bracelet: Wrist Soiree ($18) | Small bracelet: jane.com ($8; similar) | Lips: NYX Matte in Perfect Red ($6) | Bag: Target ($24 – it’s a little more online right now)
I wanted to incorporate my Christmas plaid as a layering piece, so I threw it under my favorite sweatshirt that I’ve been waiting for months to wear! I added a grey knit pencil skirt and red heels to keep the look pulled together and festive…but still comfy! I love the idea of taking something as casual as a sweatshirt and making it into a chic outfit.
Until next Tuesday!
