Hello there! It’s Tuesday which can only mean one thing….Two Way Tuesday – a link up that I host where bloggers wear one piece two different ways (even if you’re not a fashion blogger, JOIN US)! Today I’m featuring a wardrobe staple of mine….a mustard blazer. You might remember this blazer from this Two Way Tuesday post. This thing seriously goes with EVERYTHING and now that it’s Fall, I’m sure it’s going to get even more wear.
This outfit was made up of very classic “work” pieces, but I think they have kind of a unique look when paired together. The mustard and the neon coral is an unexpected color combo that I wasn’t too sure about…but it worked! Since it was summer and I was feeling really bold that day, I threw on my geometric pencil skirt and my favorite black caged lace up heels. I also included one of my favorite accessories, my pen necklace inspired by the always lovely Joan Harris from Mad Men.
Top: TJ Maxx ($8) | Blazer: H&M/Thrifted ($15) | Necklace: 1928.com ($20) | Skirt: Forever 21 ($15) | Shoes: Charlotte Russe ($20)
I wore this on the weekend but I think it could also work for Casual Friday in most office settings. I paired my blazer with a graphic t (with lyrics from one of the BEST 90s songs ever on it), black jeans, a statement necklace and the same lace up caged heels I’m wearing in the above outfit.
I think my favorite part about this look is that it’s the perfect formula for the “I don’t know what to wear” blues. Throw on some jeans, a tshirt, blazer (or another completer piece) and a statement necklace and suddenly you look pulled together. The perfect casual Friday or weekend uniform.
Also, can we talk about this necklace for a minute? I’ve been wanting a chain bib and Bauble Bar REALLY outdid themselves with this one. I never want to take it off.
T shirt: Mulberry Press Company ($26) | Blazer: H&M/thrifted ($15) | Jeans: Target ($20) | Necklace: Bauble Bar ($68 regular price but wait for a coupon code, I paid $40) | Lips: NYX Wicked Lippies in Cold Hearted ($6)
ALREADY stoked for next week’s Two Way Tuesday! I’m featuring an outfit I’ve been waiting to wear for MONTHS. What pieces do you have trouble mixing and matching in your closet? Leave a comment and I’ll see if I can find something similar!
